Right Here Right Now Tech (RHRN Tech) shines a global spotlight on climate technology making a real impact in the fight against global warming while simultaneously addressing the human rights crisis caused by climate change.

Sitting at the intersection of Human Rights, Climate Change and Economic Viability, RHRN Tech is a new kind of international tech initiative leveraging the global platform and reach of renowned individuals and organizations to curate and accelerate the deployment of solutions to combat climate change.

The goal is to create impact on a scale never before seen through solutions that address three major impact areas:

  • Human Rights: Respect, protect and fulfill human rights while empowering individuals and communities most affected by climate change
  • Climate Change: Dramatically mitigate or reverse climate change and/or adapt to its impacts
  • Viable Business: Making the best use of capital to deliver ROI and long-term financial stability

By curating an ever-expanding ecosystem to support ground-breaking innovations, RHRN Tech focuses the world’s attention on the innovators creating technology that can scale to meet the unprecedented climate crisis.

CLIMATE TECH 1OO IMPACT AWARDS

The cornerstone of the global RHRN Tech initiative is the annual Right Here Right Now Climate Tech 1OO Impact Awards, which focuses the world’s attention on innovations tackling the climate crisis. Solutions are evaluated for impact in three areas:

  1. Advancing human rights
  2. Mitigating and adapting to climate change
  3. Creating a business that is economically sustainable

Innovators from companies large and small will be featured for creating climate tech that can scale to meet the unprecedented threat posed by climate change.

The 1OO innovators who win each year and are featured in the global spotlight must currently be in the market and project a ten-year path of growth that demonstrates game-changing impact while respecting and advancing human rights.

The 1OO winners will be promoted through a Cause Flash - a celebrity driven social media campaign (see below).

STATEMENT OF VALUES

As a member of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, Tech addresses climate change as the human rights crisis that leading scientists and human rights advocates, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, have declared it to be. Climate Tech for Humanity believes the climate crisis must and will be solved, and that it should be done in a way that mitigates human suffering by promoting and protecting human rights for all.

Right Here Right Now Tech recognizes that climate change threatens the effective enjoyment of a range of human rights including those to life, water, sanitation, food, health, housing, self-determination, a healthy environment, culture, and development. States have a human rights obligation to prevent the foreseeable adverse effects of climate change and ensure that those affected by it, particularly those in vulnerable situations, have access to effective remedies and means of adaptation to enjoy lives of human dignity. Under the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, businesses have responsibilities to address climate change too.

Right here Right Now Tech seeks to harness market-driven solutions to help solve the climate crisis. We believe good business and effective companies are purpose-driven by effective leadership for the benefit of the company and all its stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders, neighbors, and beneficiaries. And we believe in the power and potential of diversity; Right Here Right Now Tech is engineered to be inclusive, so all voices are represented and heard.
